What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. It holds a short identifier, not your name or payment details. Pixels, tags and browser local storage do the same job, and this policy treats them all as cookies. Where a cookie can identify you, that information counts as personal information under the Privacy Act 2020. The same rule applies across our pages on sports betting sites in NZ.
What Cookies We Use
Our cookie policy for sports betting sites in NZ covers four groups of cookies. Some are set by us. Others come from third parties such as analytics providers, affiliate networks and payment processors, under their own policies.
- Strictly necessary. Session handling, load balancing, security and fraud checks. These cannot be switched off.
- Functional. Your language, region and display settings, remembered between visits.
- Performance and analytics. Visit counts and which pages readers open, in aggregate.
- Targeting and affiliate. Which link you followed to an operator, which is how this site is funded.
Why We Use Cookies
Three reasons, in order. Cookies keep the site secure and functional, so pages load the same way each visit. They tell us which comparisons readers find useful, which shapes what the team tests next. Analytics also checks that our list of the best sports betting sites in NZ answers real questions.
How to Manage Cookies
You control cookies in two places: our consent banner and your browser. Blocking strictly necessary cookies breaks login, security checks and parts of the page. Blocking the optional ones does not hide our list of the best sports betting sites in NZ.
- Open the settings or preferences menu in your browser.
- Find the privacy, security or site data section.
- Choose to block, allow or clear cookies for all sites or just this one.
- Delete stored cookies to reset what has already been saved.
- Reopen our consent banner at any time to change or withdraw your choice.
Cookie Consent
By continuing to use Bet Compass NZ, you accept this cookie policy for sports betting in NZ. You can withdraw that agreement at any time through the banner or your browser. Third parties set their own cookies under their own policies, so review those too.
This policy is updated whenever our cookies change, and the date at the top shows the version. Our reviews of sports betting sites in NZ are written for readers aged 18 and over, and betting should stay entertainment. Free support is available from the Gambling Helpline, 0800 654 655.
