Our values

“Ko te kai a te rangatira he korero.”

The food of chiefs is talk.

This whakauti (saying) is the metaphor for  Hikoi Tahi as together with whanau, marae and hapu we seek to preserveour purakau / pakiwaitara (stories) for future generations. The korero (talk) is relished by the noble minded, being direct, honest and binding, and principally intended to unite the thoughts of people.

Our values form the foundation of the company and guide us in everything we do. We are motivated by the belief that meaningful collaboration is achieved where there is integrity and respect with a commitment to working together in the pursuit of excellence.

Excellence

Pursue excellence – should you stumble, let it be to a lofty mountain.

Weare all sacred no matter who you are

Commitment
Kia mau tae noa ki te mutunga
Hold firm right to the very end.

Integrity
Kia tika, kia pono
Be direct and honest.

Collaboration
Nā tō rourou, nā taku rourou ka ora ai te iwi
